Mayan Hammock Stands
If you have conducted any research on hammocks and/or hammock stands, you already know that Mayan is one of the top producers of the finest hammocks and stands around. They have been making both hammocks and stands for a long time and know exactly what they are doing. The great thing about hammock stands is they can be used indoors in place of a standard bed, or outdoors, creating a beautiful visual effect for your backyard.

One of Mayans most famous stands is the Viking. This particular stand is attractive and since it is constructed of FSC-certified hardwood, it is also weather proof. This stand is not only a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship, but it is also sturdy and can easily accommodate two adults. The suspension system is designed to be adjustable so that many of the Amazon hammocks will fit. Once your Viking stand is set up, it can easily be dismantled should you move or want to take it down during harsh weather. You can also adjust the length, again making this stand a great option for any hammock.

If you are a little adventurous, you might consider a do-it-yourself hammock stand kit. This would be a fun project that the entire family could enjoy. These kits will work with Mayan, Nicaraguan, or Brazilian hammocks, and best of all, you can use hammocks with or without spreader bars. Your kit will come with all the required hardware. Check with your local hardware, home improvement, or hammock store to see the various kits available. Typically, the kit will include two metal brackets that have been welded for strength and durability and intended for use with six 4x4 posts, and a hanging kit.

If you are handy, you can have the stand put together within about 20 minutes. If you have never tackled a project like this before, you will still be able to complete the project in less than an hour. For the wood, you will need one 8-foot, 4x4 post, which is called a center beam, two 6-foot, 4x4 posts, which are used for the hammock support, and two, 4-foot, 4x4 posts, called the legs.

Once you finish the construction of your hammock stand, you can easily mount your Mayan hammock and then stretch out and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Whether you decide to buy your stand or build your own, as soon as you can enjoy your hammock, you will see that it was well worth the time. Hammocks are an incredible way to relax and with Mayan, you can be assured that you will get only superior quality!
